Fight Back for Healthy Schools
During the past two weeks, DC rallied in support of a modest penny-per-ounce Soda Tax to fund the Healthy Schools Act - groundbreaking legislation that would improve meals, health and wellness for children attending Washington's public schools.
Despite the groundswell of community support, the D.C. City Council killed the penny-per-ounce excise tax on soda, before it even reached a public hearing. However, the fight isn't over. The City Council will hold a budget vote in just a few short hours - please urge the council to fund Healthy Schools via a straight sales tax on soda.
Please act now, before it's too late!
